Who Is God?
God is One — but reveals Himself in three persons:
God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.
This is called the Trinity. It doesn’t mean we worship three gods. We worship One God, who is so great, He shows Himself in three ways — like water being ice, steam, and liquid at the same time.
Deuteronomy 6:4 – “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.”
Matthew 28:19 – “…baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
🔹 What Does Each Person in the Trinity Do?
👑 God the Father:
Invisible, all-powerful Creator.
He is the source and planner of all things.
No man has seen Him fully (John 1:18).
✝️ God the Son (Jesus):
The visible form of God.
Came to earth as a man to save us.
He is called the “Word” (John 1:1–14), and the express image of God (Hebrews 1:3).
Everything we can know about God, we see in Jesus.
🔥 God the Holy Spirit:
The presence of God living inside believers.
He comforts, guides, teaches, and gives power to live holy.
He is not just a feeling — He is God in us (John 14:26).
🔹 So Why Is Jesus Called “The Son”?
The word “Son” doesn’t mean God had a child like a man and woman do. In the Bible, “Son” often means one who carries the same nature or acts in the Father’s name.
Hebrews 1:3 – “The Son is the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person.”
That means Jesus is everything God is, just in visible form.
So “Son” means:
The visible part of God.
The one sent to do the Father’s will.
The one we can see, touch, and know.
Jesus is not less than God — He is God revealed.
🔹 Why Did Jesus Pray If He’s God?
Good question. Jesus is fully God and also became fully man.
Philippians 2:6-8 – Jesus was equal with God but humbled Himself and became a man.
As a man:
Jesus felt hunger, tiredness, pain — just like us.
He prayed to show us how to depend on the Father.
He obeyed and submitted to the Father’s plan to teach us humility and obedience.
Hebrews 5:7 – “In the days of His flesh, He offered up prayers…”
➡ So Jesus didn’t pray because He wasn’t God — He prayed as a man, showing us how to live.
🔹 Did Jesus Appear Before He Was Born in Bethlehem?
Yes! Jesus has always existed. He didn’t begin in Bethlehem — He only became human there.
John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God.”
John 1:14 – “The Word became flesh and lived among us.”
Before being born, Jesus appeared many times in the Old Testament.
🔥 Example: Jesus Appeared to Abraham
Genesis 18 – Abraham saw “three men” but called one of them LORD (Yahweh).
That was Jesus, appearing in a human-like form. This is called a Christophany — an appearance of Christ before His birth.
Also:
Jesus was the one in the burning bush (Exodus 3)
The commander of the Lord’s army who appeared to Joshua (Joshua 5:13–15)
The one who walked with the 3 men in the fire (Daniel 3:25)
Jesus didn’t start in Mary’s womb. He was with God from eternity, and He is the one people saw when God “appeared.”
🔹 So When I Call Jesus, Am I Calling God?
YES!
When you say “Jesus,” you are calling on:
The visible form of the invisible God
The Savior, the Judge, the Shepherd, and the King
The one who said, “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58)
Colossians 2:9 – “In Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”
➡ That means Jesus is the fullness of God, living in a human body.
John 10:30 – “I and my Father are one.”
John 20:28 – Thomas said to Jesus, “My Lord and my God.”
🔹 How Should I Pray — To the Father or Jesus?
Both are right — because Jesus is the way to the Father.
John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Here’s the order Jesus gave:
Pray to the Father (Matthew 6:9 – “Our Father”)
In the name of Jesus (John 14:13 – “Whatever you ask in My name…”)
Led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26 – “The Spirit helps us pray…”)
But you can also talk directly to Jesus — because He is God, and He hears you.
🔹 Summary – Simple Enough for a 12-Year-Old
Truth Meaning
God is One But reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Spirit
Jesus is the Son The visible part of God — not created, but eternal
Jesus prayed As a man, to show us how to obey and walk with God
Jesus appeared before birth He met Abraham, Moses, Joshua, and others
Jesus is God Not less than the Father — He is the fullness of God
How to pray To the Father, in Jesus’ name, by the Spirit
🔥 Final Word:
Jesus is not just from God — He IS God.
He is the face of God, the voice of God, and the love of God revealed to us.
When you call on Jesus, you’re not talking to “someone else” —
You’re speaking to the same God who created the universe and now lives in you.
So trust Him. Talk to Him. Follow Him.
Because knowing Jesus is knowing the only true God (John 17:3).
